Pole fitness, my favourite way to lose mummy tummy!

I started doing pole last September, I have always been lucky to be pretty skinny, but after having the kids I developed a bit of a mummy tummy and a few rolls around the middle. I didn’t need to lose weight just tighten up and tone.

Before starting pole

I chose Inversity Fitness, based near Worthing West Sussex, because a friend goes there and I am so glad I did. After the first week I was hooked. 

I was worried that I would be too weak in the arms or too unfit to do the moves properly, afterall you do need to be able to support your own weight. But Maisie, the instructor, is so good at knowing what you can do and how to encourage you to push yourself!

I often find that I can’t do something, we try a few times and it just doesn’t work, so we try something else and come back to it a few weeks later and suddenly I can do it. I am so proud of myself and how far I have come in less than a year. My body confidence has never been so high and I look forward to the class every week, you can’t say that about most fitness classes.

Honestly, if you are looking for a fun way to lose some weight or to tone up then check out your nearest pole fitness class and if you are near Worthing then head over to Inversity Fitness Facebook page, there is currently a special offer so your first class is free (until end of August), classes are an hour long on Monday 5.30 or Thursday 5.30 or 6.30 and after your first class are £10 a week. You don’t need to be skinny, only one or two of the girls are stick thin most of us are “normal” sized or even “curvy”, see I know what you are thinking.

  2. It sounds fab! I have heard it is really good fun and amazing exercise. I think it’s great when you find exercise that works for you and makes you feel good. I’ve just got a bike and feel like a kid again – I just love getting out on it at any opportunity!

  4. Glad you’re seeing results, I don’t have an issue with my mummy tummy it’s actually not that bad but I want to tone my arms because I have major mummy arms #KCACOLS
