About our visit to the Costa del Sol, I will talking about my experience in the restaurant El Lago, which has a Michelin star since 2005 and in our opinion, very well deserved.

The restaurant is located in the urbanization Elviria Hills, next to a small lake. It has a small indoor dining room and terrace, with about 10-12 tables, highly valued especially if the weather is good. The atmosphere is fantastic, absolute rest and with all senses put in the dining experience.

The restaurant is not known for its luxurious decoration but have a personalized and professional attention. So you’re not going to find great lamps, pictures and various ornaments because all the effort is put in the kitchen, in the quality of the raw material and taste.

Once you seat into the table, offer a drink to accompany an appetizer and small oil tasting, which includes two varieties of the area.  Extra Virgin Oil, was exquisite!

They have two types of tasting menu and wine pairing. We opted for the Menú Clásicos with an Andalusian  wine  because we wanted to try something different. We decided on a bottle of Ocnos a 100% Chardonnay, fermented in the winery Galleon Colonies of the Sierra Constantina (Sevilla). I loved it!

On the menu:

  • Marinated chicken strudel with foie  and caramelized apple
  • Semi dry tomato with Archidona  cheese and  arugula, pine nuts and quince
  • Grilled octopus with roasted potato and cream truffle
  • Shoulder of suckling goat Malaga, vegetable tabboule  and soy yogurt and orange
  • Creamy chocolate: bitter, hazelnut and caramel

After this festival of flavors, we have to be thankful that we serve a new dessert: a creamy orange with red berries, which was also delicious.

In short, a truly remarkable place, with a good kitchen, full of flavor and good performance at an unbeatable price. I hope that if you pass by, as we enjoy it.

Remember, if you visit Marbella at one, go to El Lago Restaurant. Because You worth it!!
