Melting moments biscuit recipe

These are by far my favourite treat recipe, I can’t decide if they are a cake or a biscuit though lol…

Melting moment

The recipe is so easy my kids can make this themselves:

Makes 15-20 depending on size. 

4oz butter

3oz sugar

5oz self raising flour

1 egg yolk

Few drops of vanilla essence

Crushed cornflakes

 

Method:

Cream butter and sugar

Stir in egg yolk

Add vanilla essence

Stir in flour

Divide into ping pong sized balls and roll in the crushed cornflakes.

Bake at 190 degrees C for 15-20 minutes.

That’s all, I’ve eaten 5 of these while writing this out so best make another batch…

  1. Oh, gosh. You’ve taken me back to my childhood. My mother used to whip up a batch of melting moments about once a month. They are divine as you have discovered. Many thanks for the recipe and the reminder.
