Swanbourne lake is a lovely walk in West Sussex for slightly older children and dogs on leads.
Parking is free, but limited. There is a lovely cafe, which serves amazing cream teas as well as proper lunches and a little hut which sells ice cream and duck food.
There is always loads of ducks around and if you visit in the spring you might manage to see some ducklings.
The sides of the lake can be quite steep and a bit dangerous for young toddlers, but older children (4 ish upwards) have great fun climbing the banks and exploring.
The views are lovely and the route round the lake is not too far, so the kids don’t get bored.
If you want to gon a bit further or would like to take a picnic there is a field at the far end of the lake which has a lovely extended walking section.
Swanbourne is one of our favourite walking locations!
