Top tips for avoiding head lice this school year

It’s that time of year again, the summer holidays are drawing to a close and the kids are getting ready to head back to school.

Mums everywhere are checking school uniforms, labelling snack pots, trying to persuade themselves that th kids school shoes can do another year (if only), but the one thing I always add to my list of purchases for the start of school is a good headlice prevention!

Headlice in schools are pretty much inevitable, most kids get them at some point but here are a few tips to try and avoid the dreaded “little beasties”:

  • Keep girls hair tied back, plaited on in a bun is even better
  • Hair spray, often a thin coat of hair spray over the kids hair is enough to stop the bugs from hopping across
  • Prevention shampoo, for example Tea Tree Shampoo
  • Prevention leave in conditioning spray, for example Hedrin Protect & Go.

As I said it is almost inevitable that your child will get head lice at some point, so just for one of our lucky followers we, in cooperation with Hedrin, have put together a full bundle of head lice treatments as a prize. Please enter using the link below:

  1. My youngest Grandson has started school this September and I know he’s parents will already be armed with some of this as responsible parents. As a grandparent I too could do with this as we have the Grandchildren stay over regularly

  2. I get fed up of doing the kids hair, when some parents don’t care enough to do their kids hair’s, it is just pure laziness, the parents who do not do their kids should be fined, if that don’t work, name and shame them
